“Be brave. Be resilient. Don’t take no for an answer.”

Over the past couple days, I experienced something unexpected — a sudden emergency that resulted in a hospital stay. While I’m recovering now, this experience brought about powerful lessons that I feel called to share with you, my clients, colleagues, and community.
🌿 The Importance of Advocating for Yourself
I had to advocate for myself countless times throughout this experience. When you’re in pain and vulnerable, it can feel incredibly defeating — like your voice doesn’t matter. But it does. And I kept fighting to be heard.
There were many moments when I felt unheard and unprioritized. I had to reach into the very same mental health toolkit I often offer to my clients:
✨ Radical Acceptance
🧘 Mindfulness and Meditation
💬 Reframing Anxious Thoughts
💖 Positive Self-Talk and Affirmations
🧡 Rest, Self-Care, and Being Proactive
If there’s one message I want to emphasize, it’s this: Don’t wait. Listen to your body. Prioritize your rest. Seek care when something doesn’t feel right.
Being proactive about our health and wellness — both physically and emotionally — is essential. Don’t let yourself burn out before giving your body the care it deserves.
👨👩👧👦 The Power of Support Systems
I was reminded how vital our relationships are. You never know when you’ll need your community — so be intentional about nurturing it.
To my family, thank you for being by my side. To my clients, thank you for your grace and loyalty as I navigated cancellations and rescheduling. Your kindness carried me through.
This experience deepened my commitment to nurturing the relationships that matter — and I encourage you to do the same.
🧘♀️ Meditations That Helped Me Through
Here are a couple meditations that brought me peace and grounded me during the hardest moments. I hope they support you too:
🛡 How to Advocate for Yourself (In Medical Situations or Beyond)
If you ever find yourself in a situation like mine, please remember:
✅ Speak up, even if your voice shakes
✅ Ask questions — you deserve clarity
✅ Bring a trusted friend or loved one if you can
✅ Write things down or ask for written instructions
✅ Trust your gut
✅ Ask for a second opinion
✅ Do your research
✅ Be persistent — you are worth fighting for
💬 Final Thoughts
If you’re struggling or feeling overwhelmed, please know:
You are not alone. You are allowed to speak up. You are allowed to rest. You are worthy of excellent care.
